The long weekend (and the much needed salvation for those who gave the nation their all) means Houstonians are looking for local getaways.
While many hop spots are fully booked for Memorial Day weekend (Houstonian hotel staff confirms that this stylish place is crowded), many hotels still have availability and even decent rates.
Your best bet is to confirm online or call. Here is an overview of the places to stay for this Houstonian traveler.

Downtown’s hottest hotel, which recently unveiled site-wide room renovations and a new pan-Latin steakhouse from celebrity chef Richard Sandoval, toasts Memorial Day with special discounts . Look for deals on the hotel’s chic poolside rooms and the Residents Retreat package for a weekend getaway.

Houston’s newest boutique hotel is offering special Memorial Day weekend room packages on Sunday, May 30 and Monday, May 31. Rooms for both days are priced at $ 100 and include two cocktails from the hotel’s lively Space Cowboy bar and lounge, plus early access to the hotel’s pool.
Starting Sunday, May 30, Space Cowboy will increase its hours of operation for lunch to noon. (Hours of operation will be noon to 2 a.m., seven days a week.)
