Best area restaurants in Austin

Love it or hate it, the construction of the estate has given North Austin a complete cultural center. Trendy and upscale stores flocked to the development, and quality dining options quickly followed. To refuel during the Black Friday shopping marathon next weekend, here are some recommended restaurants.

To unwind after a long day of shopping, unwind with a well-designed cocktail in the vaulted space of the Second Bar + Kitchen hotel or tapas at Mia. North Italia’s pastas and pizzas make great meals anytime. Steakhouse Perry works well for lunch and dinner. Treat yourself to baked goods at Lorraine bakery and bubble tea from Taiwanese boutique Gong Cha.

As with all businesses, be sure to call ahead to make sure each is always open or if there are updates on current offerings and service models as things are constantly changing. Wear a mask and tip well.

Health experts regard restaurant meals as a high risk activity for the unvaccinated; the latest data on the delta variant indicate that it may pose a low to moderate risk for vaccinees, especially in high transmission areas. The latest directive from the CDC is here; find a COVID-19 vaccination site here.
