  • Galveston Restaurant Week | Daily – Enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner specials at over 40 restaurants and dining destinations across the island, with multi-course meal specials at a fixed price. Continues until Sunday, February 13. Times and locations vary.
  • Rodeo Night: Houston Rockets vs. San Antonio Spurs at Toyota Center | tuesday january 25 – It’s Rodeo Night at this downtown I-10 showdown. Get ready for the return of Houston’s signature event in late February with special halftime entertainment and a celebration of the rodeo’s 90th anniversary. $15 to $1,000+, but you can find better or cheaper seats in the online resale market. 7 p.m.
  • 65th Annual Houston Boat Show & Houston Auto Show at the NRG Center | From Wednesday 26 January to Sunday 30 January – Two major annual H-Town events return to NRG on the same weekend, with five days of the latest and greatest vehicles available on land and sea. Times vary.
  • 5th Annual Simone Biles Invitation to the George R. Brown Convention Center | From Friday 28 January to Sunday 30 January − Watch gymnastics schools and teams from across Texas compete and show off their prowess during a three-day exhibition, complete with autograph signing sessions with Houston-born Olympic champion Simone Biles. Hours vary.
  • Arbor Day Celebration at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center | saturday 29 january | FREE − Families and all ages can celebrate trees with nature hikes on the center’s trails and learn about the science behind how they grow and contribute to the world. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Monster Jam at NRG Stadium | saturday 29 january Watch 12,000 pound monster trucks soar to dizzying heights in a harrowing display of motorsport mania. $20 to over $115, but you can find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7 p.m.
  • Taylor Fest at the Warehouse Live | saturday 29 january – Gather with Swifties to celebrate career-spanning works from Taylor Swift’s extensive catalog. Along with hearing the smash hits and deep cuts, fans can also enjoy a photo booth, drink specials and guest DJs. $12 in advance; $15 the day of the show. 9 p.m.
  • Lunar New Year celebrations around Houston | Saturday January 29 and Sunday January 30 | The most FREE – Although the Year of the Tiger doesn’t officially arrive until next Tuesday, there are plenty of events this weekend and beyond to jump into the new year with a grunt. Times and locations vary.
  • Galveston Museum Day Around Galveston | Saturday January 29 and Sunday January 30 – Explore the history and heritage of Galveston Island and beyond when 12 museums and historic sites open their doors with free admission or free admission and special offers. Times and locations vary.
  • Quince Expo at the NRG Center | Sunday January 30 − Find everything you need to plan the perfect quinceanera so that your favorite 15 year old is under one roof. $12 in advance; $15 at the door; free for children under 10. Noon to 5 p.m.
