A A recent study confirmed what most Dallas residents already know: Our city has great happy hours. Jewelry business Shane Co. conducted a new study that focused on the number of happy hours in the city, the cost, the average number of reviews, the average number of stars, the price point and the number of “great places to go.” happy hours â(more on this later). Each city was rated on each factor and counted to determine the absolute best.
Shane Co. used Yelp info to collect data on the 50 largest cities in the United States by population size for each factor. The number of happy hour spots carried the most weight, while cost, average star rating, and more were contributors.
Phoenix, Arizona, placed overall with a score of 40.3 of 50. San Diego was second best with a score of 39.8. Austin barely beat Dallas’ 36.3 with a score of 38. Los Angeles had more reviews and several other “happy hour spots.” What is a âperfect happy hourâ according to Shane Co.? Per Yelp, “good for happy hour” equates to outdoor seating, dogs, live music, and the ever-crucial parking factor.
Dallas has passed San Antonio and Houston in terms of the number of critics. It had an average of 400 reviews compared to the average 300 of the other two. And San Antonio barely passed Houston due to better costing.
