Restaurateur Julio Pineda plans to give Richardson a new take on traditional Tex-Mex fare when the new Sueño Modern Mex-Tex restaurant opens in December.
In addition to enchiladas, nachos and quesadillas, Pineda said Sueño will offer authentic Mexican dishes such as carnitas, carne asada and tacos birria.
“[Those tacos will use] essentially a meat of short ribs which [is] similar to the breast, âhe said. “Were [also] make a raw sea bass that will have ceviches and aguachiles.
In addition to Julio Pineda, the founders of Sueño include members of his family Jaime Pineda and Aureliano Pineda. Christian Lujano is also one of the restaurant’s founders and will be Sueño’s bar manager, Pineda said.
âWe wanted to make a craft cocktail program that really stood out,â Pineda said. âMost of our cocktail program is based on spices and infusions that we also use in the kitchen. “
Pineda was previously part of the group of owners of Pineda’s Mexican Cuisine in Richardson, but he said he was no longer involved with that restaurant. Sueño will be located at 800 W. Arapaho Road, Richardson, in the space formerly occupied by Pizza Americana.
âThe interest of this concept was more for the Richardson community than anything else,â said Pineda. âI knew this was something Richardson needed. People [are] drive for a good 15-20 minutes to get something like this. 469-372-6739. www.facebook.com/suenomextex
