Crunch Fitness, a national gym franchise, will open in July at 7068 FM 1960 Road E., Humble. The company is replacing 24 Hour Fitness, which closed its Atascocita site along with at least 11 other facilities in the Greater Houston area last June. General manager Spencer Stone said renovations to the facility would begin at the end of May and the gym will offer plenty of 24-hour fitness equipment.

“We will keep a lot of the main equipment of this 24 hour fitness center, but everything will be completely renovated, refurbished [and] brand new, ”he says.

The pool, sauna and steam room will be upgraded, while the basketball court will be transformed into a grass area for small-group training and a studio for spin classes, Stone said. Small-group fitness classes will include Pilates, boot camps, zumba, and high-intensity interval training, or HIIT.

The facility will also offer recovery features, such as hydromassage therapy beds, tanning and spray tanning. The first 500 people who sign up for the gym will get discounted monthly membership rates of $ 10 to $ 25, Stone said. 281-973-4400. www.crunch.com/locations/atascocita
