Things to do: Upcoming food events in Houston this fall 2021

Mark your calendars because you don’t want to miss these deliciously fun food events:

Guests are invited to a Tequila & Wine dinner at Alicia’s Mexican Grille restaurants, as well as Galiana’s Tex Mex and Agave Bar, featuring an autumn-inspired three-course meal accompanied by tequilas and premium Maestro Dobel wine . Find the next dinners at Alicia is in the spring Saturday November 6; galiana tex mex Sunday, November 7; the The Hunt West of Alicia held on Saturday December 4; and the Alicia’s sugar country held on Saturday 11 December. On Sunday November 7, Alba Huerta and the team of Julep, 1919 Washington, will celebrate the cocktail bar’s seventh anniversary, featuring a range of guest bartenders from across the country, a pop-up from one of the “world’s best bars” and all-day drink specials from 4 p.m. Lynette Marrero, Meaghan Dorman, Nandini Khaund and Kellie Thorn will be guest bartenders throughout the night, and the party will end with the takeover of Licorería Limantour bar, a Mexico City bar currently ranked No. 17 in the world .

Asia Company Texas, 1370 Southmore, brings back its popular Night market event Friday, November 12 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., showcasing over 40 local restaurants and small businesses owned by AAPI and celebrating the vibrant diversity of Houston’s Asian-American communities. Festival goers can look forward to games and activities for all ages and a variety of food trucks and local artisan vendors, as well as free access to the exhibit after hours and the launch of ASTX Unity Wall, an interactive installation inviting guests to write about what they can do to build a more inclusive society.

Farms of Hope, 10401 Scott, invites you to Cooking the harvest Saturday, November 13, offering a special baking skills class for entertainment ($ 79 / seat) with Chef Carlos Meltzer. Participants will learn the basics of making a pastry dough, spreading an even crust and blind baking, and learn about the pastry dough behind the clafoutis.

On Sunday November 14, the hop heads are invited to Yoga & Infusion To Saint Arnold restaurant and beer garden, 2000 Lyon. Yoga time begins at 10 a.m., followed by food, drink, local vendors, and the Texans game on the Super Screen in the garden. Tickets cost $ 10 and the first beer (or root beer, cider, or Superfine Hard Seltzer) is included.

The oxtail mashup – in which Houston chefs and popular bartenders will come together to
a “mash up” of food, drink, art and music – will take place on Sunday 14 November, in the lush garden of Townhouse project, 2521 Holman, 7-10 p.m. This year’s chef lineup includes Andre Burns from Burn the barbecue, Andremica Braggs from A fiery chef, Jonny Rhodes from Broham Soul Food and Grocery / Indigo, Mark Clayton of Square and more; each challenged to create stellar oxtail creations while five bartenders craft tiki-inspired punches. Tickets are $ 75 for the GA with five cocktail tickets, a sample of each bite and access to the exhibits; and $ 135 for VIP with early entry, free cocktails, unlimited sampling and access to exhibitions. A percentage of the proceeds raised throughout the evening will benefit Project Row Houses and Texas Children’s Sickle Cell Disease programs throughout Houston.
