Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated Whataburger announced earlier this year plans to open its first restaurant in the Nashville area at Hermitage. It will be the first Whataburger restaurant since the 1970s.
Whataburger signed a lease to open a new restaurant in North Mt. Juliette, according to the owner.
The new Whataburger will be in a new building where the closed Capitol City Market was operating at the corner of North Mountain. Juliette and the roads of Lebanon, said Mark Lineberry of Lineberry Properties.
Lineberry expects the new building to be available in the first half of 2022 as the approval process progresses. He expects demolition to begin this summer.
Mark McDonald of Oldacre is partnering with Lineberry on the project.
Whataburger recently announced plans to open its first Nashville-area restaurant since the 1970s this fall at 5055 Old Hickory Boulevard in Hermitage.
More Whataburger restaurants are planned in Middle Tennessee, the company said.
Lineberry Properties purchased the old Capitol City Market and a property just east of the old gas station. Lineberry Properties also purchased approximately one acre just south of the future Whataburger location where Camel Express Car Wash is planned.

ML Rose to open Mt. Restaurant Juliette: ML Rose Craft Beer & Burgers will open its new location at Mt. Juliet at the old Logan’s Roadhouse at 401 S. Mt. Juliet Road on May 17, restaurant founder Austin Ray said.
This will be the fourth location for ML Rose and the first outside of Nashville.
ML Rose will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner will be open for brunch on weekends. Hours of operation are 11:00 a.m. to midnight Monday to Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., Friday 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.
New convenience store on Golden Bear Gateway approved: Mount. Juliet City Commission has approved a preliminary plan for a 9,600 square foot building at the southwest corner of Lebanon Road and Golden Bear Gateway.
Approximately 5,000 square feet will be used for a convenience store and gas station with two remaining spaces available for rental.
Eight fuel pumps that can serve up to 16 vehicles are part of the plan.
