Wing It On Chicken Restaurant! opens first DFW site in Fort Worth

A new fender seal has arrived in Texas, bringing “wings ‘n wiches” to Fort Worth. Called Get started!it’s a small North Carolina-based chain opening its only location in Texas, none other than Fort Worth.

The restaurant is moving to a new center in the far southwest of Fort Worth at 5329 Sycamore School Rd. #105, where it will be open dine-in or take-out, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and even later Friday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to midnight.

A spokesperson says it will open in the next few weeks.

Get started! was founded in 2011 by young entrepreneur Matt Ensero, driven by his desire for crispy, not soggy wings. He opened the first location in his hometown of Waterbury, Connecticut, before moving the business to Raleigh in 2020.

That will make nine locations, not including the one that opened in Spring, Texas in 2021 but has since closed. Sad.

Wing It offers a streamlined menu featuring Buffalo-style wings and boneless tenderloins, plus customizable chicken sandwiches, sides and seasoned fries.

There’s the usual long list of sauces and marinades, from lemon-pepper honey mustard to mango-habanero and their zesty Buffalo sauce.

Eight sandwiches include buttermilk fried chicken with various toppings such as bacon and cheddar cheese.

The fries come in two options – regular or waffle – and can be ordered plain or with a choice of dry seasonings such as Cajun. Two sides include coleslaw and corn, and the dessert consists of a brownie.

But they are introducing new items such as the current new dish, bite-size dumplings filled with chicken.

The concept comes to Fort Worth via franchisee Kishor Neupane, who knows the world of chicken, having previously owned and operated a number of successful Golden Chicken restaurants.

“I am thrilled to join an exciting brand like Wing It On! and be part of their entry into the Dallas-Fort Worth area,” Neupane said. “From the fresh, delicious and diverse dishes on the menu, to their commitment to high-level food safety standards and creating the ultimate fan experience, there is nothing else like them. I believe that the citizens of Fort Worth will love Wing It On! and make it their go-to place for all things chicken in the months to come.”
